July – August 2020 Tammuz – Av – Elul 5780

As states are reopening, please remember that the danger has not yet passed. Our infection rate here in Florida is currently one of the worst in the country. Guidelines from the CDC can be found here: www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html. Please keep indoors whenever possible, practice social distancing, wear face coverings, and keep washing your hands. The best we can do is pray for those who work in medicine, both tending the sick and researching medicines, as well as doing whatever we can to lower risks to those around us and ourselves. We are all responsible for one another.

As a reminder, all services are livestream only until we receive word that it’s safe to congregate again. Every week we send the bulletin and a special siddur for our livestream services.

The YouTube link below is to our livestream. It’s a bit long to type all that in, but you can find it on our website in a convenient link. Either way, the good news is the link always stays the same, and it always points to the congregation’s livestream. Whenever we’re not streaming, you’ll see an image of the Torah scroll. You can find our old livestream videos on YouTube and on Vimeo.

And please subscribe to us on YouTube! If we reach 100 subscribers, we can change our livestream link to something shorter and easier to type.

Join us every 2nd and 4th Saturday at 7 PM EDT for Stump the Stars (Jewish style)! John and Patrice will be available to answer (most likely) questions you always wanted to ask a rabbi. The session will be followed by havdalah as we celebrate having enjoyed another Shabbat. You can join us in video conference by going to this web address: 8×8.vc/ohrchadash/stumpthestars. We’ve also created an email address that you can send questions to during the weeks between sessions: stumpthestars@gmail.com. Please keep your questions brief and of general interest.

The synagogue will continue to have bills to pay and needs to meet, so your prayers and donations will still be important. Please mail to our P. O. Box address, above.

If you have prayer requests, please email them to Janis by Friday morning. The care committee email is occarecmtee@aol.com.
